Death Registration
The REGISTRATION OF DEATH is done at the Civil Registration of Natural Persons (as opposed to a juridical entity) at the Hospital district (Federal Law 6.015/1973, articles 77 and subsequent). 1. Should the declaration of death be done in conjunction with the Funeral Service, the declarant, besides the medical certificate, should, if possible, take the birth and marriage certificate of the defunct, as well as have at hand the data of the defunct (nationality, place of birth, civil status, married, separate or divorced, date of marriage; address; the persons CPF/MF, ID, PIS/PASEP, the INSS registration, INSS-NB and voters registration, profession, name and children's age). Finally, the declarant should inform, if the defunct left a Will, if the person was a military reservist; a voter and an INSS (welfare) beneficiary, besides the cemetery where the person will be/was buried. 2. The declarant should follow the same guidelines as above described if done directly at the Public Notary Service. Please note that a correction should always be done prior to signature. So we advise to read the document attentively and then sign.
