Transcriptions of Birth certificates, Marriage Licenses and Death Certificates of Brazilians in Foreign Countries

     Entries (registered in the Book) of births, marriages and deaths of Brazilians in a foreign country, will be considered authentic under the terms of the law of the place where they were done, assuming that the certificate was legalized by the consul (N.B.: Document legalization/authentication by the Brazilian Consul is generally mandatory for documents originating from other countries), These data entries will be transferred to the Book "E" in the registry of the 1st Office of the District in the respective domicile, or, in lack thereof, in the 1st Public Notary (in João Pessoa, Capital City of the State of Paraíba, it would be Azevedo Bastos, Notary Public of the Capital of the State, that has been or will be the residency, so that it may have legal effect in Brazil.


     These transcriptions have to be requested directly to the official of the Civil Registration of the Cartório Azevêdo Bastos that is the independent and the competent civil registration of the District of João Pessoa, Capital of the State of Paraíba, independent of any judicial intervention, being necessary only in the fulfillment of the requirements foreseen by the law.
